Macadams 50 years experience

Our Aim

Here at Macadams, we have 50 years’ experience in the motor industry, so always try to make sure your experience is as pleasant and smooth as possible, whilst making you aware of what is happening throughout the repair process.

Our aim is to get your vehicle back on the road as soon as possible. We use manufacturer approved repair methods and complete repairs to the highest possible standard. As well as being insurance approved, we also specialise in non-fault repairs, providing you with a like-for-like courtesy car. Private paying customers also have the option of a courtesy car too.

Repairing your vehicle

Here at Macadams, we understand just how stressful being involved in an accident can be; being without your vehicle can add to the pressure and that’s why we work tirelessly to fix your vehicle, returning it to its condition prior to the incident.

We’ve put together some steps which take you through the process, should you come to us for an accident repair:

Step 1

Booking

Ready to book you in

Booking your vehicle in

Our reception team are on hand to book in your vehicle, discuss the damage with you, and note down any problems you may have. Please be aware that heavily damaged vehicles are not a problem for us and we repair them using the latest measuring systems.

Step 2

Assessing

Macadams Assessing the damage

Vehicle damage assessor

will prepare an estimate for your insurance provider

Assessing the damage

Our vehicle damage assessors will prepare an estimate and this will be sent electronically to your insurance provider. If you decide to claim on your insurance, your provider will inform us and then we will start the repairs. If written consent it needed, this may make the repair process slightly longer, and should the estimated cost of repairs be close to your current value of your car, we must wait for the insurance provider to assess the vehicle, before authorising the repair work or deeming it a total loss.

The Macadam bodyshop centre has six spray booths and can accommodate all sized vehicles from cars to commercial vehicles.

We have a number of specialist BMW aluminium repairs technicians, who work exclusively in our dedicated aluminium booth. Our vehicle damage assessors are Audatex trained, and we employ a range of senior level BMW trained technicians.

Step 3

Parts

The vehicle is booked into the workshop and the parts needed are ordered. Please note that most parts take 2-3 working days to arrive, whereas those that are on factory back order with the manufacturer can take longer; we will notify you if this is the case.

Are you aware of your rights?

When dealing with insurers it is likely that you have had an accident and whether your fault or not, is can be a stressful time. Speaking with insurance companies at this time, may see you pushed in the direction of their recommended repairer in order to keep their costs down.

It’s vital that you know your rights so that you ensure you are making the right decision for you and not them.

Being directed to a repairer who you have no experience in dealing with could result in less than satisfactory levels of customer service, the use of cheaper alternatives to manufacturer’s parts, and potential warranty issues.

As the motor vehicle insurance policy holder you have the right to choose where to have the work done, and while the insurance company may advise where you get this done, it is not mandatory.

You can choose who you get to carry out the work and you don’t need more than one estimate, which again, they state you do. If you don’t feel comfortable with the road they are pushing you down, you are well within your right to say as such. Please remember this at all times.
